Joyce Phillips Clark B.Sc. in Physical Therapy
Joyce received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta (BScPT) in 1983. I have been in practice for 22 years, and during that
time have added to my knowledge base from all the many wise people
I have treated, worked with, and been educated by. Assessment
of a given problem takes into account structural integrity of
the area (i.e. ligament stability, muscular support and balance/imbalance,
neurological status, circulation), work/play activities, energetic
and emotional components, and related visceral
and craniosacral
function.
" have taken many specific training courses, and attended many conferences in Canada and the US., and returned to university 5 years ago in order to stay aware of new information and techniques . I myself have taught TMJ anatomy and techniques for physiotherapists, and craniosacral therapy for lay people. When a client is attending for a treatment session, whether to address specific problems or for wellness maintenance, the therapy provided will address issues with a variety of techniques, many of them combined within the session. Options which may be provided include :
- joint mobilizations
- neural mobilization
- muscle rebalancing
- trigger point therapy
- fascial release
- gait analysis
- specific TMJ techniques
- athletic taping
- kinesio taping
- craniosacral therapy
- visceral mobilizations
- zero balancing
- somato-emotional release techniques
- lymphatic drainage
- as well as knowledge gained from the disciplines of meditation ( 22 years) and yoga (17 years).
Referrals to other practitioners may be advised as necessary. I have been very active with my husband and three sons, and have completed two marathons and numerous half- marathons. I enjoy curling, cross-country skiing, running, kayaking and gardening. My yoga and mediation practices help me keep my mind-body in balance so that I can continue to be active and healthy.
“I love working with my clients, and thoroughly enjoy helping people
to actualize the healing potential that we all possess”
