Dr.
Bradley Kennedy, Chiropractor
Dr. Kennedy graduated from Life Chiropractic College
West in Hayward California in 2002. Dr. Kennedy is
fully trained in the NUCCA (National Upper Cervical Chiropractic
Association) adjusting procedures. He is currently working on his Part I certification
process with the guidance of Dr. Thomson. Dr. Kennedy has also taken
postgraduate training in Applied Kinesiology (AK). Before Chiropractic Dr.
Kennedy worked as a Registered Massage Therapist for 7 years.
As well as being a Chiropractor Dr. Kennedy has been
an active athlete for the past 25 years. His background includes
competing in swimming, road cycling, running and triathlons. He is
currently training for his third Ironman Triathlon in the summer of 2007.
Dr. Kennedy starts by using the NUCCA procedure to
balance your head properly over your spine and pelvis. This reduces
pressure on the nervous system and corrects most postural distortions and
abnormal stresses on the spine. Allowing the body to function
properly and reducing muscle tone or spasm. Stretching and
strengthening exercises then are given and become your responsibility to
do. Quite simply the more responsibility and control you take in your
health the less you will need to be adjusted and the better you will
feel. In very chronic or stubborn cases Dr. Kennedy will then utilize
his training in Applied Kinesiology to further aid the body in healing.
Dr. Kennedy takes a very integrated holistic approach
to health care. He very much believes that we need to be treated as a
whole person and not just a symptom or part. Dr. Kennedy believes
that there are three main types of stress; emotional (your job, family, and
money), chemical/environmental (what you eat, breath, and drink), and physical/structural
(accidents, traumas and spinal alignment and function). All of these
do affect your health and wellness. When out of balance they cause
what we call symptoms or when more balanced lack of symptoms. Dr.
Kennedy specializes on the physical/structural side of the triangle but
will make suggestions or referrals as necessary.
